No more Stinkyman!

Yesterday was the greatest day ever. I took a bath! I was getting really stinky and my mom finally took care of that problem. It was great!

I didn't even mind it that much. I got a bit bored after a little while, but only when the bath digressed into a photo op. But everyone is so much happier, including myself, now that I got all my nooks and crannies cleaned out and I am no longer stinky!

Second Doctor Visit

Today I went for my 2-week checkup. It went really well! The doc said I am perfect. They weighed me, and I tipped the scale at 8 pounds, 2 ounces. I have gained a whole pound! I think I might be even bigger and stronger than my dad someday!

No new pics tonight, but there will be a lot going on the next week or so, so stay tuned!

I tried a big person bed for a little while. It was really big! It was comfortable enough for me to take a little nap, but I think I like my crib better. It has animals and stuff to look at.

Duckman

I can't believe my dad dressed me in this outfit. Now he is running around calling me "Duckman." I don't think that sounds like a super-hero. Maybe it is a good thing he is going back to work soon? I think he might be going a bit looney.

Moving on to another topic, people have been asking about pictures and how to get copies of the images on this blog. If you go to Ofoto (or whatever Kodak calls it now) you will find them there.

What a night!

I had the best night ever. I only woke up once! I went to bed at 11:15 and slept until 3:00 or so, and then after a snack I went back to sleep until a little after 6. My parents seem really excited about that too. Now we'll just see if I keep that up or not...

As usual, pictures of me sleeping...

For some reason, my parents thought it was quite funny that I fell asleep with my arms up. What can I say? I was very relaxed, checking out my parent's big bed, and I just sprawled out. You should see what my dad looks like when he takes a nap!

One of my top 3 favorite pastimes is taking naps. This is right up there with eating and one other thing. I really enjoy sleeping next to my mom; her on the couch and me in my chair. I also dig the Pooh sleepwear I am in today.

It was a yucky day today, so we just hung out inside. I did get to go for a little stroll yesterday, so that was nice. My mom and I went to Lincoln Park. I can't wait until it gets really nice out and we go there and meet all sorts of people!

Be sure to check out my archives

Hi there! I was really busy yesterday, and didn't get a chance to post anything new. I am pretty sure I will get a picture or two up later today. I also wanted to make sure all of my readers know that if they need to look back at old posts, they can do so by scrolling down a little bit and looking on the right-hand side for the section called "Archives."

After 7 days on themain page, old posts will be found in that section and grouped by weeks. This helps keep the main page from being too long and taking too long to load. I may even change it so that it archives even fast, so the main page is even smaller. Maybe you can email me and let me know what you think I should do?

Keep enjoying everything. It has been fun, and it’s so cool to see that people all over the world have visited my blog. We have had visitors from Hong Kong, Portugal, Canada, the Bahamas, and more!

A Great Weekend

This has been one great weekend. I realized today that I am now a week and a day old, and I still have not got a picture of me with my parents on here. So we played around with the camera today, getting some "portraits" done. The results are not the greatest, but we'll do it again some time. The important thing is you can see we are one big happy family!

I also had a great day, and my parents will agree, because I started chilling out when they change me. That whole process really wasn't something I enjoyed, and I was being pretty vocal about it. But I have mellowed out now that I realize it actually ends up making me more comfortable. So now everyone is happier when it comes time to change my poopy pants!

Grumpy Griffin Men?

This a great shot of three generations of Griffin men (my grandpa, my daddy, and me). Clearly, I am the most photogenic of us all. Don't expect a blog with pictures of either of these guys anytime soon...

I really like hanging out with my grandparents, even though this pictures makes it look like I don't. I have really enjoyed it when either of them holds me. It gives my parents a break, so they like it too!

I have been a very good boy when my grandparents hold me. I usually just sleep, but I also have been awake and make faces with them. I hardly ever cry. I am trying to make them feel real good, since you know down the road I will be looking for them to spoil me, and get them to help me pull tricks on my parents!

I also met some of my neighbors today. This is Chuck; he lives a few doors down. He is scared of babies, but he did a good job with me. He says I can go to the Nats games with him, so I think he is cool.

Hard At Work!

My dad and I like to sit in front of the computer and look things up on the inter-web. He holds me in one hand, and uses the mouse with the other. We do things like read all the news, look at websites about babies, and all sorts of neat things. Oh, and he helps me with the blog! So this is a shot of me in the room with the computer taking a break from working on the blog. I really am much happier than I look!

Jail break!

Today I actually went outside for the first time! It was really nice out, so to celebrate my "1 week birthday" my mom and my grandma and I went out for a stroll. They got me all dressed up, and made sure I was warm with my fleece blanket and neato hat. The tucked me in to my carrier and put me in the stroller, and I promptly fell asleep.

But the stroll was a huge success. I enjoyed the trip, even though I basically slept the whole time. My dad got to go to Home Depot and get some stuff. My mom left the house for the first time since I came home. We all got some fresh air on a nice spring day, and then came home and took naps!

Playing w/ Daddy

I spent a lot of this afternoon playing in my cool play area with my dad. This thing is so neat; it has a lot of difference shapes and its all red, black, and white. That is perfect for my developing brain and eyes. It really is fun to try and look at all the shapes and the weird things hanging down from it. My daddy and I had a lot of fun playing in it, and I was so tired from all that lounging on my back and starting that I slept for 3 hours this afternoon!

My dad and I had great fun today with this thing, but I don't think he fits under it very well. And he better shave soon, because I don't like it when he gets his scratchy face up near me. Also, he got these new glassses, and I am not so sure about them. He says he is trying to look like Paul from ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," but I think I just looks goofy. He should stick to his contacts.

Concerning my name...

There seems to be some slight confusion among some of my fans on how to say my name. Apparently, a recent Secretary of State had a first name spelled the same as mine, but it was pronounced differently. Mr. Powell pronounced his first name in a manner that likened it to part of the human digestive system. That is not how I pronounce my name. My name rhymes with pollen, which is the stuff that gives my mom a lot of troubles with her allergies.

So in pronouncing my name, always remember: spring and flowers blooming, not the last part of the lower intestine. Thanks.

I like hats.

My mom got me all dressed up fancy for the doctor yesterday. I guess it was worth it, since everything turned out so well. At any rate, this is now my favorite outfit. I like the colors, and the hat is pretty cool but it’s a bit small. I really like hats, so I hope my parents find me some new ones.

Is my daddy funny in the head?

I am not so sure about my daddy; he doesn't seem to take me seriously. He likes to hold me and play with me and stuff, but he seems to always take goofy pictures with me. Can't he pose nice and be fatherly looking sometime?

Really, I am not grumpy.

I really like hanging out in my Fisher-Price Soothing Massage Bouncer. Its pretty comfy, and it let's me spend time on the main floor with everyone else. I had a great day today, and played and slept and had a lot of fun. However, I am getting a little tired of my dad taking pictures of me all the time. Didn't we already get this shot? So I am looking at him with a skeptical eye, wondering why we keep taking all these pictures.

My parents showed me a new toy of mine, a really cool play area that has all sort of interesting things and colors and shapes. I hope we play with it more tomorrow and maybe I will show y'all it then. I am off to bed now!

One more thing for today...

I forgot to tell everyone about the big trick I did today. My dad was telling my mom while we were waiting in the doctor's office about how my brain works. He told about how I can recognize faces almost right after I am born, and do some things that seem pretty advanced. He had an example for my mom: he stuck out his tongue at me! He caught me just at the right time when I was alert and checking things out, so I imitated him and stuck my tongue out too!

My mom was so surprised! She thought it was a coincidence, but my dad did it again so I did too! Pretty cool trick, and now my mom is pretty sure I got quite the brain developing for only 4 days old!

Well, I am off to go watch a new DVD my dad got for me - "The Incredibles." It sounds really neat, and even though my attention span is only about 5 minutes, I am sure I will enjoy it. I will post some more pictures tomorrow, so tune in then!

My first doctor's visit

I am exactly 4 days old as I make this post, and I just got back from my first doctor check-up. Everything was super good. The doctor said I was perfect, and I didn't even need her. I now weigh 7 lbs, 1 ounce (almost my birth weight) and I don't even need to be at that weight until I am 2 weeks old!

Well, I just wanted to let all my readers know that I am in tip-top shape and that everything is going really well. I will probably fire off some more posts and maybe put up a new picture later today. I did get all dressed up to go out, after all, so I better show off the pic of me in my cool outfit.

My first full night and day at home!

So I have got my first full night and day under my belt, or more accurately my fleece wrap. I felt pretty good in my cool crib, and I slept pretty well. I got every few hours and called for room service, and the staff seems to be pretty responsive. Everything is running rather smoothly, and I am hoping it stays that way. You never know, I might have to mix it up around here and throw some curveballs.

The night went well, and the day went by fast. I didn’t do a whole lot, but I did come down and hang out with everybody on the main floor for a bit. That was a nice change of scenery. My room is nice, and I like it up on the second floor, but it is good to get out and about too.

So apparently my fans are a bit upset that all my pictures so far have been with my hat on. The question as to the status of my hair is now answered. Here it is! Now will it stay like this, or a month from now will it be totally different? That remains to be seen...

I also hung out in my little bouncer massage thing for the first time today. It seems pretty cool. I might get sick of all these pastels soon though. Let's hope my mom and dad get a little bolder with color choice.

I am finding out I have quite the wardrobe waiting for me. I am not sure that I am a "duck person," but I like that my parents are keeping me in nice clean clothes. Let's just hope they remember I am a boy, and don't dress me up in pink. I don't care if pink is this season's black!

Home at last!

Now this is what I am talking about. Warm, fuzzy fleece wrap. Nice colors all around. Some sort of holster to keep me from flipping over. Its good to be home. I am so excited about finally going to my house that I slept the whole drive. My dad must be the greatest, smoothest, most careful driver in the world, because I didn't even wake up.

Thankfully, my dad went home and took a shower and shaved. He was starting to get a little "funky" - and not in the James Brown sort of way. Also, I am not a big fan of 3 day stubble on the face, and my dad has this weird thing of getting up close to me and acting like he is a dog, sniffing me and licking me and stuff. Weird.

I was glad to get all dressed up in my own clothes and get ready to go home. The hospital was getting kind of boring, and I didn't like the blankets and clothes they had we using there. But those warmers were awesome!

Here we go with the feet again... I don't know what it is with my dad, but he just can't stop messing with them. I likes to take pictures of them, touch them, point at them, talk about them. They are my feet, so what?!?

Day 2

Well, I am a bit over 24 hours old, and it seems longer than that. Time flies when you are having fun! So far, I have been pretty happy with things. I like my hat. The food is pretty good, but I haven't been that hungry yet. If you just got shoved though a dark, cramped tunnel full of all sorts of weird fluids and stuff, your appetite would not be so big either! They say we get to go home tomorrow, so that sounds cool. I have no idea what the place looks like that my parents are going to take me to live. I heard something about being close to a park, so that sounds good.

I heard from some of my fans that I need to make sure there were better pictures of me posted. I understand the desire, but I am still a little shy, and I am not sure how much I want to post because it a hassle being a celebrity and getting recognized wherever you go.

For the most part we had a lot of fun today, even though the room we are staying in is kind of retro. My mom likes to keep an eye on me, which makes me feel good. I pretty much just sleep, and she tries to catch some winks when I do too. I think she is still a little on the tired side, though.

Big Feet?

My dad seems to be fascinated with my feet. I keep hearing him say they are some "damn impressive flippers." He thinks it will be helpful in my career as a Formula 1 driver, since I can mash down on the pedals with extreme effectiveness.

My dad is doing a pretty good job of holding me and stuff, but he looks pretty silly when he tries to get his picture taken with me.

Greetings everyone!

Greetings everyone!

I am Colin Joseph Griffin, and I was born at 2:44 PM on March 12, 2005. That is today, BTW. I wanted to get a jump-start on things, so I thought I would go ahead and post some thoughts on today's events and some pictures of myself. I look pretty goofy right now, but was only like 15 min. old when I got my picture taken, so what do you expect?

My mom was a real trooper, because I was not so sure I wanted to come out today. But after 14 hours in the hospital and over 2 hours of pushing, she got me to come out! She is doing OK, but I don't think she will be taking me swimming real soon.

This is my dad making me nervous as he holds me like a bag of Doritos in one hand and takes a picture with the other. I am not sure what his job was today; all he did was take naps and read books.

Kickin' it in the french-fry warmer

This is me after the nice nurses cleaned me up and let me work on my tan under the french-fry warmers they keep in the nursery. Or is it "Freedom Fries" still? Anyway, I liked just hanging out under that heat lamp. I hope my parents got one of those installed back home.

Colin and his brother Sudzy

I have no idea what this is all about...
